Thoughts in Macbeth

I am actually understanding this play a lot more than I thought i would. I feel like i can somewhat understand the language when we're just reading along without stopping although i need the clarification just to make sure I get all the details. i would have to say that it is pretty gruesome. It's a little to bloody for my taste but it's better since I'm not seeing it in real life. i also think that the voices are kinda creepy. I'm not really confused on anything yet because everything seems to be fitting together in my mind so far. Although I kinda wonder what inspired Shakespeare to write such a dark play.
